Meet the friendly staff at Peace of Mind Veterinary Care!
Dr. Wood received her DVM degree in 1995 from the University of Madison-Wisconsin. After graduation, she moved to the Twin Cities area where she has provided small animal veterinary services in a high traffic, busy practice in the south metro for over 20 years. She loves surgery, wellness care, educating owners and facilitating the human animal bond. She also has experience at a high volume spay and neuter clinic and worked at MN pets where she performed at home euthanasia and hospice care. Dr. Wood is very excited to continue caring for the existing clients as well as welcoming new ones. She lives in Lakeville with her husband, 2 daughters, 5 dogs, and 2 cats.
Dr. Schaefer is a Minnesota native that joined the Peace of Mind Veterinary Care family in July 2016. She graduated from the University of Glasgow School of Veterinary Medicine, Class of 2016. When the chance to study abroad in Scotland for vet school presented itself, she didn’t hesitate to accept the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Dr. Schaefer has been active in the veterinary field for the past thirteen years, first as a veterinary technician with Dr. Wood before and when on breaks from vet school. She is extremely excited to continue offering high quality medicine and care to her patients. Dr. Schaefer has interests in surgery, new pet education, dentistry, and internal medicine. Dr. Schaefer looks forward to meeting new clients while optimizing the health of their animal family members. Outside of work, she enjoys going to concerts, kayaking, seeing new movies, and spending time with her family, including her two domestic short haired cats, Bennee and Georgee. (Miss Peanut the bulldog pictured has since crossed the rainbow bridge)
Dr. Clark joins the Peace of Mind veterinary team fresh from the west coast. While she considers Florida home, she earned her DVM from the University of California, Davis in 2018, and then completed a small animal rotating internship at a specialty hospital in San Diego. Dr. Clark’s veterinary interests include neurology, emergency medicine, zoo and wildlife medicine, and geriatric care. In her free time, she loves paddle boarding, camping, learning Hebrew, watching soccer, horror movies, Broadway musicals, and spending time with her partner and their fluffy mutt Kiche. She is very excited to get to know the people of Minnesota and to provide the best care for their furry family members.

Ann began working in the veterinary field while earning her B.S. in Biology at Northern Michigan University and now has over 20 years of experience as a veterinary technician. Most of her experience has been in general practice and spent 3 years working for a high volume spay and neuter program before joining Peace of Mind. Ann currently lives in Cottage Grove with her 3 dogs Vinny, George, and Fiddy. She enjoys gardening, backpacking in the western U.S., and camping and hiking in Michigan's Upper Peninsula with her dogs. She is very passionate about Siberian Husky rescue and is rarely without a foster dog or 2...or 3!
Karly is a recent graduate from Argosy University’s Veterinary Technology program. She completed her internship here at Peace of Mind in March 2018. She passed the Veterinary Technology National Examination this summer and is now a Certified Veterinary Technician. Karly also has a general associates degree from Normandale Community College. Karly has a cat named Munchkin. Her favorite thing to do is spend time with animals and hang out with friends. She loves being outside, but will hibernate through the Minnesota winters. Karly picked this profession because she believes animals deserve to live long and happy lives and she wants to do her best to ensure that that happens; after all, 'Happiness is waking up with a cat on your head!”
Kira has been passionate about animal care her entire life. She has a BA in Biology, was a ZooKeeper in Phoenix for 5 years, and is currently in school at Argosy University for Veterinary Technology. Kira is excited to continue her veterinary career here at Peace of Mind!

She spends her time reading, writing, and keeping track of her three cats Aria, Cthulhu, and Tintin, as well as her white-capped pionus parrot, Nikita.
Judy joined the Peace of Mind Veterinary Care family in 2017 after she became an empty nester. Blessed to still have one cat (Ginger) and two dogs (Aine and Pax) in her life after having said goodbye to two dear animal friends, Judy knows that pets are part of the family. Judy enjoys greeting customers each day and providing them and their pets with care that she would want for her own family. Outside of work, Judy enjoys spending time with her first granddaughter and both of her kids who still live nearby. Judy lives in Apple Valley with her husband Joel of 29 years. Together they enjoy spending time hiking and traveling throughout the U.S. They are hoping to visit Alaska soon in order to complete their tour of the 50 states.
Lee may be new to Peace of Mind, but his love for animals has always been present. He attended North Dakota State University with a major in Computer Science, but realized that he wanted to go a different direction. After his beloved dog, Kiray, got sick, it was then that he knew he wanted to help every kind of animal live a more fulfilling life. He is currently enrolled in Dakota County Technical College where he hopes to graduate as a CVT in a couple of years. He lives in Burnsville with his wife and enjoys playing video games, traveling and anything Lord of the Rings.
